Architecture Boston Expo 2014

Our partnership with the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) continues to grow. At this year's Architecture Boston Expo (ABX), Transformit helped define the area of the Innovation Pavilion with a colonnade of Ice Needles, which was suspended and lit from above, and visible everywhere in the exhibit hall. We also distinguished the Awards Pavilion, with suspended Star Drops.

Our owner, Cindy Thompson, and her longtime friend and collaborator Charles Duvall, of Duvall Design, gave a presentation for architects entitled "The Art of Textile Architecture: How to Design, Specify and Manage Sculptural Tension Fabric Projects- Indoors and Outdoors."

No other companies look at the use of textile architecture from the viewpoint shared by Cindy and Charles, and projects will benefit from consistent artistic vision across the indoor-outdoor barrier. We believe that the use of textile architecture in this way is an industry first.

Finally, our own exhibit was a simulated outdoor environment, with overhead shade structures, and six Marcel columns showing fall grasses within a dramatic up-lit display reminiscent of shop-windows.
