Hughie's Event Production Services used colorful Transformit
Fireflys to dress up this large atrium for an event planners meeting. Transformit donated a selection of our inventory to be installed as a ceiling treatment in the
Sheraton Station Square lobby in Pittsburgh, PA. Hughie's Director of Decor Services, Gale McDougall, said “we would love to bring some color into the unique and open space” of the Sheraton’s lobby for the Event Showcase and Expo. Hughie's was a sponsor of the event and wanted to bring in a large décor installation with some fabric shapes from Transformit. Since the ballroom ceilings are only 16’, Hughie’s approached the Sheraton team and inquired about a possible installation in their lobby. The lobby is built off the main building, with one side wall around 75’ high and sloping down to about 16’ on the other side, giving the room a triangular shape. Dark grey steel beams along the ceiling give the impression of an industrial age gone by and set off the view of the city across the railroad tracks and the river just outside. After talking with Transformit’s Jamie Basile and Joe Benson of the Sheraton, Hughie’s decided on a design and were able to install it for a week. A combination of
Fireflys and kites in various colors brought depth to the room and created some interest in the dark ceiling, without obscuring the view. Overall the design was well received and many of the staff and guests commented on how they liked different angles or views from the balcony or the lobby floor.
