Transformit Outdoor Partner Duvall Design

The Flagship office building, located directly across the street from the Grand Cayman cruise terminal, was recently purchased by Dart Realty.  Frederick + McRae Architects of Grand Cayman were hired to renovate and rebrand the building. The renovations included a new retail terrace for which Charles Duvall designed and fabricated a series of layered, tilted triangles. These wings will shade the terrace in the afternoon while retaining the ocean view from the terrace and office spaces. The goal is to attract new retailers and to provide a usable meeting and gathering space.

AMB Construction of Grand Cayman installed the project, and Lyle Frederick was Project Manager. Duvall Design studied the light exposure of the terrace in order to position the wings in an optimal shading position.
