Then and Now: Keeping the Collections Fresh

Transformit designs have been "out there" for awhile, meaning available to buy and rent, and "out there", meaning different, unique. This story is about the origin of the collection Cindy Thompson named the Organics, and how others have pushed us to keep the collection fresh and new.

MG2 255Having opened the box, Cindy was compelled to make more flowers. Dazzles came next (think daisies, but jazzier), along with Leaflets (because no garden should have only flowers). For the lobby of The Special Event Show 2000, Cindy created an installation she called The Garden of Earthly Delights, borrowing the title from Hieronymus Bosch, the Dutch painter.

Transformit's exhibit that year was a kinetic Blooming Morning Glory, which bloomed and closed up repeatedly during the show, accompanied by ambient "morning glory music", as imagined by the composer Tom Faux.

We've been happily surprised that other designers (our clients) have repeatedly seen possiblities we never imagined.
