FireFlys, Manta Rays, or Sails?
We call them FireFlys, but the discussion at the Curtis Memorial Library, where these were recently installed, is whether to call them Sails or Manta Rays.
The library, located in Brunswick Maine, wanted an art installation for the building's central atrium. In the current economy, there were initial concerns about cost, but FireFlys are inexpensive because they are Ready-Made products with minimal aluminum tubing. They are easy to install because of the simple construction and they only need one or two hang points.
Now, the request is for "more" whatever they are called!
