Non-Shoppers' Refuge at the Mall

Greenwood, Indiana is the site of something new in retailing: a place (shaded by Transformit FireFlys) where non-shoppers, typically men, can relax and watch a game  while shoppers, typically women, take care of business.  Simon Property Group, owner of Greenwood Park Mall, is testing the idea here in the middle of the country, and will roll it out nationwide if it is successful.  The space has comfortable lounge chairs, seven televisions, free wifi, and a car on display supplied by the sponsor, Hubler Chevrolet.  Three FireFlys suspended above the space provide definition to the area ("I'll be over there, under those swoopy things"), and shade from the overhead skylight.  The installation was completed just in time for the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament, in which Transformit was involved as well, providing stage elements for the Naismith Trophy award ceremony through Highline Sports. (Click to see a YouTube video.)  By coincidence, Greenwood, is Cindy Thompson's home town, where she was captain of her high school basketball team.  In the NCAA Men's tournament final, Butler University, from Indiana, was beaten by perennial powerhouse UCONN, much to the delight of alumna and Transformit executive assistant, Carissa Parent.
