ASTC Innovation Pavillion

Museums are not the static displays they once were!

The SHIFT Innovation Pavilion at ASTC (Association of Science- Technology Centers) 2011 showcased 12 cutting-edge technological innovations from around the world, intended to spark an ongoing discussion about innovation in the science center community.

We sponsored the event by transforming a 30'x50' rectangle of carpet into an enclosed pavilion with three distinct interest areas: Blue Sky, Paradigm Shift, and Bridge Tec. The pavilion was configured by Tranformit's Tom Newhall, using Crescendos, Grace Notes, Lyrics, Tangos, and freestanding Morning Glories from our rental inventory.

The overall design was a collaboration by the major sponsors- ASTC, Transformit, Lexington, Design & Production, Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, Evidence Design, and Available Light. Other sponsors included Gallagher & Associates, GES, Electrosonic, Christie, Unified Field, and The Hettema Group.

Check out this video taken during installation, incuding an interview with our founder, Cindy Thompson (at 2:22 into the clip), here.
