Gem Ceiling

The designers at Ralph Applebaum Associates wanted a special ceiling for an exhibit at the University of Arizona Alfie Norville Gem and Mineral Museum. The museum’s exhibits trace gems and minerals from their origins in mines all over the world to production facilities where they are cut and polished, to jewelers who mount them in their final settings. The final exhibit is the Treasury, in which are displayed the museum’s finest examples of gemstone jewelry, worth millions of dollars.

Ocean Lights

Ocean Properties Ballroom

When designing the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa in Jensen Beach, Florida, the architects and designers at TruexCullins Architecture + Interior Design drew inspiration from the resort’s seaside location. For the resort’s ballroom, rather than opting to fill the ceiling with traditional chandeliers, they designed a series of unique sculptural luminaries that evoked billowing sails filled with ocean light and breezes.

Montaje Luminaire a CODAawards Finalist

Montaje Lobby - Planeta Design

A custom built fabric structure luminaire designed by Planeta Design Group with Transformit for the Montaje Apartments, Somerville, Massachusetts was named a finalist by CODAworx for the 2018 CODAawards. The lighting fixture features aluminum extrusion frames, stretch mesh, and stretch fabric printed with images from the site's era as an assembly plant for Ford Motor Company.

This Little Light of Mine

The sculptural luminary pictured in the photo is This Little Light of Mine, the signature piece at the center of the newly opened Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. This Little Light of Mine is a big deal for Transformit.

We were hired to build and install This Little Light of Mine and it was an honor to contribute to this museum celebrating Mississippi's civil rights movement, a movement that changed the nation. Plus, this project, with its artistic intent, myriad of technical integrations within a fabric structure, and design and installation challenges, was an exceptionally good creative fit for our company.
