Mary Carey
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mary’s longtime mission is to bring art to industry.
She grew up in Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in environmental design, an interdisciplinary program combining design and project management. Mary began her career with architect Minoru Yamasaki in Michigan as an art buyer for corporate offices. She transferred to Los Angeles to manage interior design projects at Toyota’s first corporate headquarters in the US. As a volunteer working on the ‘84 Olympics in LA, Mary proposed Bill Moss’s tension-fabric structures for the rowing and archery venues. What followed was ten years of collaboration with Moss. Mary single-handedly established tension-fabric structures in the trade show industry. She was presented with the EDPA’s Hazel Hays Award in 2005 in recognition of her achievements.
In 1998, Mary brought her mission to Transformit, and ever since has been working tirelessly to bring Transfomit’s unique art form to industry, as well as to museums, retail and hospitality environments, and public spaces.
Mary lives with her husband outside New York City, where she can easily keep current with her wide circle of friends and interests.
Mary is on sabbatical until January, 2008.
