Designer
Transformit is a good place to work as a designer:
• founded, owned and passionately led by an artist
• large, beautiful tension-fabric sculpture installations
• twenty-year history of innovation, both artistic and technical
• projects for exhibits, events, museums, retail, hospitality, interiors
• collaborative studio environment
• low employee turnover, good benefits, supportive management
Designers at Transformit play a very important role. Account executives rely on them to interpret client requirements and devise workable solutions. Production staff rely on them to provide clear and complete drawings. Designers are able and willing to explain their ideas to others with words and pictures. At the same time, they listen and learn from their coworkers, because knowledge of how to work with tension fabric is spread throughout the company. Designers carry Transformit’s brand to our clientele. They are bold enough to take creative risks, passionate enough about the company and their designs to follow through with hard work, and humble enough to listen carefully to clients and colleagues.
Specific activities include:
• creative meetings with clients and account execs
• presentation drawings for clients
• internal project meetings with estimating and production staff
• production of detailed working drawings
• site visits for permanent installations or major projects
• review production for conformity to standards and original design intent
Special projects include research and development of new products, methods and processes. These are performed by ad hoc teams based on interest, ability and availability.

• proficiency in AutoCad 3d (required)
• a positive outlook
• ability to work to deadline
• ability to sketch with a pencil
• hands-on building experience
