Installation

    Just as a painting is seen in relation to the wall on which it hangs, each Transformit project is experienced in relation to a place and a context. Installation is crucially important to the success of the project.

    Installation requires a combination of an artistic eye and hands-on experience both with fabric structures and with the complexities of venues such as theaters, exhibit halls, hotels, retail stores, museums and other public spaces.

    Sometimes a good installation is as simple as making sure the seams are straight and there are no wrinkles. Sometimes what’s needed is the ability to interpret drawings and ensure the structure doesn’t fall down and injure someone.

    Transformit’s installers are all either stage hands or artists, or both. Knowing how to keep things moving, and how to make it beautiful, is their stock in trade. They are hard workers, resourceful, thorough, handy in a pinch, and able to work alongside union workers from any trade.
