We recently installed several Transformit Ready-Made elements (nine circle flats, and a big Dazzle) overhead at Gorham’s new Sullivan House Bakery. Owner Nancy Ames, after a career in the insurance industry, decided it was time to follow her lifelong passion of starting up a small bakery.
Coastal Women’s Health Care
This project is an excellent example of biophilic design. A calming image from nature, it is a welcoming sight to patients and visitors. The image is printed on mesh fabric mounted to an aluminum frame with FasTen, our proprietary fabric retention system, and set one foot in front of the white back wall. These elegant fabric doves, suspended in the atrium of St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Indianapolis, are another great example of biophilic design. The doves symbolize that this is a place of peace and healing. The doves were made with an aluminum frame and fire-rated architectural stretch fabric. The project was designed by Hamilton Exhibits, manufactured and installed by Transformit.

When COVID arrived last March, the first thing Transformit thought of was how will all of the restaurants in Portland survive without the space needed for safe social distancing. Rolling walls seemed like a good idea to augment the actual distance with a fabric barrier.

When designing the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa in Jensen Beach, Florida, the architects and designers at TruexCullins Architecture + Interior Design drew inspiration from the resort’s seaside location. For the resort’s ballroom, rather than opting to fill the ceiling with traditional chandeliers, they designed a series of unique sculptural luminaries that evoked billowing sails filled with ocean light and breezes.

Last summer, as the pharmaceutical research firm ICON plc of Dublin, Ireland was nearing completion of their newly renovated Philadelphia office, an unanticipated “condition of approval” from the Board of Health appeared on the construction punch list. The design for the lobby included a Starbuck’s coffee stand and the Board of Health required a canopy to be added over the barista stand.
